Diabetes Education
Support and education for those managing type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes and pre-diabetes (impaired glucose metabolism).
We work with patients who need assistance and advice managing insulin therapy and titration (with appropriate referral), insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring.
Strength for Life Classes
- Strength for Life, improves joint mobility, muscle strength and increases bone density. Strength training can be very beneficial and assist with management of chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, arthritis and osteoporosis. Running more than three times a week at Macedon Ranges Health, this is a fun social class lead by a trained class leader. Weights are assessed individually for each client and exercises are modified when necessary accordingly to client’s needs.
- Keeping Your Balance, a balance class designed to increase your flexibility, mobility, coordination and balance with the intention of helping to decrease risk of falls.
- Better Mobility, is a gentle exercise and an excellent way to begin or restart your exercise program. It is designed to increase flexibility, mobility, balanace and strength. All better Mobility classes can be adapted to chairs or wheelchairs.
- Warm Water Exercise, is an excellent medium for arthritic joints. Water acts as a shock absorber, reducing stress on joints and allows a full ranges of movement. The massage effect of water increases circulation and promotes relaxation.
